Fashion
Last night my only other NC friend,

[Editor's note: This blog entry used to be complete, and at least a little entertaining, as you can tell by the comments. Then I came in and muddled the whole thing up by trying to link to my "only other NC friend's" new blogsite. Somehow in the process I deleted the rest of the blog without realizing it, and I don't feel like recreating it. So, I'll sumarize. Liz and I discovered that girls in NC dress up way too often, and Capris are really "in." Perhaps they're just freshmen trying to "get the guy." I don't like Capris. I dyed my hair red. What do you all think of Capris?]

Comments:
I like Capris, named for an island off the coast of Greece, but I don't know why. Maybe they are from there? Maybe I am just drawing an inference because they are both named the same thing? I don't know... I like to make things up sometimes.

Anyway, I wear them because my legs are too white for me to show off anything above the knee. People would be blinded... it wouldn't be a good thing. But I know a lot of people who hate them. Though one of my friends said 'capris are the fashion god's apology to those of us who don't have good thighs' and I have to agree... for me at least. But feel free to hate away!!

I think the fact that you are on a college campus makes what you are seeing this: all the hot young girls want to get all the hot older guy's attentions... short skirts is the way to go. Also are there greek clubs on campus? That could make a different.

(sorry my comment is so long!!)

I bet they will dress down more once school really gets underway. AFter all, I bet they are trying to impress ;)

Capris...hm. Mostly they just confuse me. Are they pants? Are they shorts? Ergo, shouldn't we call them "shants" or "ports"?

No, your blog is FAR from boring. I was riveted.

Capris really confuse me. To my mind, they're neither shorts nor pants, and therefore have no right place in clothing hierarchy. I understand the whole "I have bad thighs" thing, I suppose. However, I've heard more than one woman say they cut off in an unflattering area (or just look bad where they cut off), and I rather agree. *blushes* If I'm allowed to say it, they don't make any woman's legs look as good as they could. *blushes harder*

I'd also hazard a guess that the outfits are just to impress during the first week or so. But a lot of people college age seem to dress that way, so who knows?

I for one do hope blue jean jackets and frizzy hair come back in style. Since I have both! I had great hair in MN, but in NC, nothing but frizz. I am going to go shopping for my short skirts as soon as I leave work today. Oh wait, no I'm not. I am much happier wearing one of the many pairs of cargo pants I own. I own 3 pairs! Hey, when you find something that works you have to stick with it. At least I cover up my "problem areas', right Neal?

Yeah, we have "Greek clubs," so that might affect things in the fashion realm.
Thanks, y'all, for making me feel loved with your comments. Good to know some bored souls out there find their way here. :)

When you've got it down right, why mess with it, eh Liz? I'm a big fan of cargo shorts, as well. I like the way they look, and unlike many who have them, I actually use those extra mammoth pockets. Very handy for me, since pockets in normal shors, etc. tend to get too full with gum, key, change, etc.

And frizzy hair Liz? I'm trying to picture this, since your hair was so "perfect" for the wedding. Must be all that... humidity and heat down there? Wait... how is that different from MN in the summer?

And Laura, I'm not really bored. More like frustrated at not knowing STILL what I'll be up to this fall. Darn UMD is taking forever to figure it out. I'd like to know, rather than be forced to bite my fingernails to the quick. So yeah, looking for things to do to take my mind off of it. Fun blogs being one of them.

Still working on it, Liz. Apparently the perfect job wasn't enough for her. We'll have to find her a man, lure her with lust.
Any ideas? Maybe introduce her to Hotty McHotty?
